I've had the same thing happening at my squirrel-proof feeder, the kind where
the weight on the perch drops a 'gate' over the food.

I assumed the flicker was going for the flying ants that love to get into that
specific feeder (ewwwwww, how I hate those specific insects!).

I've had quite the crowd at my suet feeders the past few days - love the
bunch-o-bush-tits that comes carousing through the yard. Even the crows were
checking out the suet, and they normally don't give a hoot about it.
