Hello Birders,

As we turned around yesterday at the Hood Canal Bridge,do to a Stormy snowing,we had god weather at Kitsap Co.But last evening it got start snowing heavy. This early in the morning looking out side ,it was a Snowy wonderland covering all the tall fir trees and the grounds. So we staying home making sure that the birds having fresh water and plenty food. Our patio turning to a new feeding station, since Patrick put some ground unsalted peanuts all over the railing. All the birds been feeding all the time as we sitting inside glued to the windows. It had to be still insects out since we saw our two Townsend's Warblers seeing flycatching. There are feeding on one of the many suet feeders we got hanging.
We got our first three Varied Thrushes for the winter season. We had one earlier in the season ,but he did not stayed. One winter we had 18 birds in our yard, but we in an area where there all around.I always had a small Noble fir tree in a big pot this for the birds. Two birds always was in this tree, the Bewick's Wren and the Townsend's Warblers. The tree died after tree years, and I planted another Fir tree instead. For some reason no birds will going in to this tree.I will again this year finding a Noble Fir tree ,to plant this for the bird to watching them so close and on a regular basis. So it is nice to staying home some time and enjoying the birds in you yard, playing Christmas Carols on and enjoying a relaxing day.

Cheers Ruth Sullivan
