Subject: [Tweeters] Ridgefield NWR: Merlin, Eur Wig, etc.

Today at the River S Unit of Ridgefield NWR in Clark County, I came across a
male Taiga MERLIN, a male EURASIAN WIGEON, and at least 1, maybe 2 HARLAN'S
HAWKS. The previously reported WHITE-TAILED KITE was active between the
check-in kiosk and the SE portion of Rest Lake. It was being harassed by
both a HARLAN'S HAWK and NORTHERN HARRIER, albeit at different times. It
returned the harassment, too. The man staffing the check-in kiosk told me
the WHITE-TAILED KITE has been there for three months.

Today was not a hunting day, so much of the waterfowl was off in the hunting
areas. Presumably some will return to Rest Lake (or go elsewhere) on
hunting days.
