Most interestingly to me, Mourning Doves remain very local and rather
uncommon in a stretch of the eastside of Puget Trough from about Fort Lewis
to Shoreline. There are certain patches where they can be found, and some
feeders attract decent numbers, but they are largely absent from these areas
and don't seem to be increasing as they clearly are in many places of the
westside such as Sequim, or Skagit County.

In particular the Kent Valley, which I'd have considered great Mourning Dove
habitat, is mostly void of the species.
