I just wanted to say that I received the "Mammals of South-East Asia" guide today. It was in like new condition, although it won't stay that way for long. It's awfully small. The photos are clear and, of course, interesting. Most of the mammals I saw in Vietnnam were from the street markets; such as the Leopard Cat and Macaques.. It doesn't show every species, though, although they are mentioned in the text; e.g. House Shrew and Pygmy Slow Loris. Although I went along, as driver, for a mistnet survey of bats (Pleiku), I don't remember enough to pick out any species of bats that were caught. The book has no maps. In short, there is a lot of room for improvement with the next guide, whenever that'll be.
