Hi Tweets,

A few hours ago I went outside in the front yard and immediately saw a
woodpecker land on the tree across the street. I grabbed my binocs and was
pleasantly surprised to see a Red-breasted Sapsucker making its way up the tree. I
watched it for about 10 minutes as it preened and then the whole family came out
to watch it. A neat new yard bird!

I went to Nisqually today with some friends and it turned into a gorgeous
day. Some highlights included:

(in order seen, we walked the Dike Trail)
Cooper's Hawk
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Spotted Towhee
Cedar Waxwing
Belted Kingfisher
Northern Harrier
Greater Yellowlegs
Merlin
American Wigeon
Bonaparte's Gull
