Yesterday (10/1/06) there was an EARED GREBE on the pond north of the gravel drive to Spencer Island in Everett. The bird was seen near the SW corner of the pond. There was a HORNED GREBE in the SE corner of the same pond. A lone juvenile GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE made several passes over the road, finally settling on the pond among the many ducks. The pond held quite a few species of duck, including a dozen or so CINNAMON TEAL.

Spencer Island itself was closed on Sept 18 for construction. The closure will last about 3 weeks.
