Tweets,

At 12:30 PM today (Monday) I had the pleasure of having a GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE pop up right in front of me and forage in plain sight in the blackberries for several minutes before slipping away (though it may well still be nearbly). I think this is the second county record, the first being a wintering bird at Newport Beach in 1965-1966.

The spot was about 100 yards south along the spur road (62nd St. S) that extends beyond the barrier on the south side of S. 59th Pl. at the ne corner of the Boeing Ponds. The ponds are accessible north from S 212th St. east of the Green River bridge on 59th Ave. S.

No sign of the Northern Shrike reported yesterday at the ponds though the White-fronted and Cackling Geese are there.
