Sightings for Saturday, September 30th:

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta, 2 STILT SANDPIPERS
continue in the west field.

At the Iona Island south jetty in Richmond, a HORNED LARK
was present.


Sightings for Friday, September 29th:

At Roberts Bank coal port In Delta, the 2 BUFF-BREASTED
SANDPIPERS were again present at the base of the jetty on
the south side.

In White Rock between the white rock and the end of the promenade
were 1 WILLET, 3 MARBLED GODWITS, and 1 MARBLED MURRELET.


Sightings for Thursday, September 28th:

At Stanley Park, Vancouver, a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW
was again seen at the stone bridge at the west end of Lost Lagoon.

In Delta. the WILLET was again present at the base of the
Tsawwassen jetty on the south side.


Sightings for Wednesday, September 27th:

At Foreshore Park close to Cecil Green Park, UBC, a juvenile LEWIS'S
WOODPECKER was seen from the Memorial parking lot at 12:30 PM.

At the base of Roberts Bank jetty, the 2 BUFF-BREASTED
SANDPIPERS continue on the south side with 150 KILLDEER.

At Reifel, 2 SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPERS and 2 STILT SANDPIPERS
were present in the west field. Around the sanctuary, 1 AMERICAN
BITTERN, 2 VIRGINIA RAILS, 4 SANDHILL CRANES, 2 GREATER
WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, 1 TURKEY VULTURE, and 2
MUTE SWANS were seen in the marsh from the outer dyke.
Nearby at Westham Island Bridge, a further 2 MUTE SWANS
were present.


Sightings for Tuesday, September 26th:

At the base of Roberts Bank jetty on the south side, 2 BUFF-BREASTED
SANDPIPERS were found in a flock of 150 KILLDEER.

At Reifel were 1 SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER and 1 STILT SANDPIPER.

At Stanley Park, Vancouver, a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW
was present near the stone bridge in Lost Lagoon.

In the 9500 block of 116th St, North Delta, a WHITE-THROATED
SPARROW was seen in the early evening.


Sightings for Monday, September 25th:

At Reifel were 12 SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPERS, 2 STILT
SANDPIPERS, and a RED-NECKED PHALAROPE.

At the tip of the Iona south jetty, 200 SURFBIRDS were present.


Sightings for Sunday, September 24th:

At Point Roberts, WA, a bird fitting the description of a SOUTH
POLAR SKUA was present in a flock of 200 BONAPARTE'S GULLS
and MEW GULLS. However, POMARINE JAEGER cannot be
completely ruled out. Confirmation is desired. Also present in this
flock were 3 PARASITIC JAEGERS.

At Reifel were 4 SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPERS, 2 STILT SANDPIPERS,
4 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERONS, 1 MARBLED GODWIT,
and 25 SNOW GEESE, which were the first of the season.


Sightings for Saturday, September 23rd:

At Reifel, 3 SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPERS and a STILT
SANDPIPER were present in the west field.

At Maplewood Conservation Area in North Vancouver, a WHITE-
THROATED SPARROW and 2 late PURPLE MARTINS were seen.


Sightings for Friday, September 22nd:

At Terra Nova Park in Richmond, a YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT
was reportedly singing near the entrance to the park.

At the Iona south jetty, 24 SURFBIRDS were present at the tip.
Nearby on the sewage ponds, a STILT SANDPIPER was seen.

At Jericho Park, Vancouver, a LAPLAND LONGSPUR was seen with 40
AMERICAN PIPITS.

In Delta, a PACIFIC GOLDEN PLOVER was present on the turf farm off
72nd Street, north of Boundary Bay.


Sightings for Thursday, September 21st:

At Cecil Green Park, UBC, 3 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS
were present.


Sightings for Wednesday, September 20th:

At Reifel, 7 SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPERS and 1 STILT SANDPIPER were present in
the west field. Around the sanctuary, 10 PURPLE MARTINS, 2 BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT HERONS, and 1 AMERICAN BITTERN were seen.

At the Tsawwassen ferry terminal were 10 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS.


Sightings for Tuesday, September 19th:

Along the Iona south jetty, a LAPLAND LONGSPUR and a HORNED
LARK were seen.

At Colony Farm in Coquitlam, a GREEN HERON was again
sighted at the duck pond.


Sightings for Monday, September 18th:

At Boundary Bay between 96th St and the mansion were a
SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER, 2 AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVERS,
6 RED KNOTS, and 2 MARBLED GODWITS.

At Colony Farm, a GREEN HERON was present at the duck pond.


Sightings for Sunday, September 17th:

At the Tsawwassen ferry terminal, 2 possible BLACK-FOOTED ALBATROSSES were
seen for 5 min. Confirmation is required.
This sighting only reported on Thursday, September 21st.

At Reifel were 3 SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPERS, 1 STILT SANDPIPER,
4 PURPLE MARTINS, and 1 WHITE-THROATED SPARROW.

At the Iona I. sewage ponds, a SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER was
seen in the northeast pond.


Sightings for Saturday, September 16th:

At Reifel, 4 SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPERS were present and a WHITE-THROATED
SPARROW was seen along the east dyke.

At Boundary Bay between 104th St and the mansion, an
AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER, 3 RED KNOTS, and 2 MARBLED
GODWITS were sighted.
