Subject: [Tweeters] Any Barred Owl effect on N. Flying Squirrel Populations?
Date: Oct 5 12:01:41 2006

I recently received some photos of a Northern Flying Squirrel that trapped itself in another islander's house. That spurred me to read up on the squirrels a bit and I wondered if the range expansion of Barred Owls into the Northwest has impacted the flying squirrel population at all. Vashon seems to be covered with Barred Owls now as well as having at least one to two Great Horned Owl breeding pairs.
