3 LAPLAND LONGSPURS were discovered Oct 5 north of West Medical Lake. From
Thorpe Road, go south on Ladd Road .7 miles. Listen for their trill call.
There are lots of pipits & some Horned Larks. The Longspurs were still
there Oct 6. This is a new year bird bringing the group total to 335.

A GREATER SCAUP was on Medical Lake, south end, Oct 6. WESTERN GREBE
numbers continue to increase especially on the south end of West Medical
Lake. A STILT SANDPIPER and a PECTORAL SANDPIPER were at Peone Prairie Oct
5, but not the next day. A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was briefly in a yard
north of Spokane Oct 1. 62 SANDHILL CRANES and one OSPREY flew south over a
yard near Cheney Oct 1. 2 BLUE JAYS arrived at the same Cheney yard Oct 1 &
continue to be seen. A BLUE-WINGED TEAL was at Philleo Lake Oct 4. A
BONAPARTE'S GULL was on Silver Lake Sept 29.
