I had a small flock of DARK-EYED "OREGON" JUNCOS in my backyard this
noon, first of the season. I counted nine but I'm sure there were more
than that. They seemed to be checking out the areas where they found
seed last year but they came up empty, I'm out. I scatter it around the
back porch and a few other places. Also about 20 BUSH TITS at the same
time, pretty busy time for a bit.

Call me a sap, but I love seeing Juncos for the first time and all
winter, they brighten my day.
