I went over to Lions Park around 3 pm, ostensibly for an exercise walk. Ha.
Never take bins on an exercise walk, you don't get much exercise! Should've
had my scope with me...

On the way into the park was a WESTERN SCRUB-JAY perched on a telephone
wire.

A flock of about 50 AMERICAN WIGEONS yielded one EURASIAN WIGEON. Amidst
the AMWI was a small flock of MALLARDS, including one really ugly
Mallard/Aflac/something else mix.

Ten COMMON LOONS floated towards Tracyton with the tide.

One lone male SURF SCOTER.

A pair of HARLEQUIN DUCKS!

Various other birds included NW CROW, SONG SPARROW, BELTED KINGFISHER,
PELAGIC and DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS, OLYMPIC (can we say that on the
Kitsap Peninsula?) GULLS, including one really nice example of a 2d-winter
bird, and a few HORNED GREBES.

It was a good day for a slow, ambling walk along the water side of the path
at the park!

Good birding,
Mary

PS - Lions Park is in East Bremerton, Kitsap County, past the Warren Ave
Bridge on Lebo Blvd as you're heading towards Tracyton.
