Subject: [Tweeters] Ravens again

Hi, Tweets

I went out a bit ago on this glorious fall day and the first thing I
heard was the "quork" of a raven coming from next door. I went out
and down the road, but couldn't quite see it. Then I noticed
something large in a tree on the corner (of course I went out without
binoculars). Then . . . I heard this high-itched, short, five-note
trill with a "gulp" on the end from the neighbor's tree. This is a
raven call I'm not familiar with. Soon the gulping raven took off,
flew over me and down the street. In a few seconds the large item in
the corner tree said "quork" and took off down the road after the
first raven. Really neat to see.

Are there any/many instance of ravens nesting in the city or suburbs?
Bothell's getting pretty built up but still has lots of trees.

Cheers, Diann
