Actually, Marian's description of at least one of the birds she saw
sounds pretty good for Blue-gray Gnatcatcher. Though it does seem
extremely unlikely that all eight of the flock were gnatcatchers, I
don't think we should dismiss the report entirely. This species
sometimes does join winter flocks of other birds, so it's not impossible
that one joined a flock of Bushtits. And shame on you Tweeters that
were nasty to her. There is no possible excuse for that.
