This afternoon I was out driving around the Elma/Satsop area. Near the northern end of Moore Rd., I had a small flock of six Western Bluebirds flying out of a pasture. There were about 26 Roosevelt Elk along Moore Rd. as well. Then out in the woods, on the A-700 road, I spotted 3 quail flying quickly from the side of the road. Pretty much a gurantee they were Mountain Quail. Also, I flushed one Ruffed Grouse off the side of a logging road. Deer season opens tomorrow so the woods will be a busy place!
