A friend and I are seriously thinking of a trip to Mexico for his birthday in December, and are looking at the Yucatan Peninsula. This is to be a hiking trip mostly (6-7 days), with very little, if any, driving. I would like to know if anyone has been recently, knows of camping accomodations, good spots to see wildlife, etc.? Any and all suggestions will be helpful as we start planning. Book ideas (I have Howell & Webb's guide to birds of Northern Mexico and Central America) or particularly helpful websites would be good. Thanks to all of my birding compatriots!
