Hi Tweets,

I got home this afternoon just in time to see 10 Ravens circling and calling to each other before going their separate ways. This is the most Ravens I have counted on this side of the mountains at one time.

On the first of this year I had two flocks of 6 go overhead within minutes of each other.

With at least 2 and probably 6 Ravens hanging around this summer we are getting pretty knowledgeable about their calls. I now can tell if a raptor or TVs are in the area and when the coast is clear. If they are just flying together with friends and family, or flying to get somewhere.

I have heard begging behavior. And watched parents talking to their four youngsters, and the young birds actually listening, ok so one was distracted by a flattened mouse.

I am in love with these birds and hope they will raise young near us again this winter.
