Subject: [Tweeters] Sharp-tailed Sandpiper at Stanwood

This afternoon (10/16) around high tide, a juvenile Sharp-tailed
Sandpiper was in the marshy pool just beyond the gate at the entrance
to the Stanwood Waste Water Treatment Plant. It was roosting with the
L.-b. Dowitchers.

Thanks to Barry Levine, who reported two of these birds at the same
spot on 2 October, resulting in my checking this spot given a business
trip from the East Coast well-timed for me to get this species as a
life bird. Is it likely or unlikely that this is one of the birds from
two weeks ago? I don't recall seeing any subsequent reports. Also, is
tide a factor for having shorebirds, particularly Sharp-tailed
Sandpiper, in this pool?
