Subject: [Tweeters] Red-breasted Sapsucker "flocks?"

Hi All,

Yesterday, I had a group of four Red-breasted Sapsuckers (seen
simultaneously) pass through my yard in Lake Forest Park. Although I
regularly see them up the street (1/2 mile away), this was the first time
I've recorded them in the yard since last December.

As far as I can tell, their "migratory" movements are poorly known up
here. The species account in the Birds of North America reported that the
species moves in groups of 3-4 during migration in California. Have any
of you noticed groups of them during this or previous autumns? Feel free
to respond privately...
