Subject: [Tweeters] Intergrade N. Flicker

I had an Intergrade NORTHERN FLICKER in the yard this morning, Red rape
and red malar stripes, yellow under the wings. My question is, I
haven't seen an intergrade since last winter/spring although I do have
a lot Flicker visits. Is this maybe a Northern form migrating south or
just the luck of the draw?

I was forced to cut down a cherry tree this summer - danger of falling
on my neighbor- and the Flicker was working industriously on the snag I
left so losing the tree has at least a little value.
