Hi Tweets,

I took an afternoon boat ride up to the Jeff Head area of central Puget
Sound. About a mile or so southwest of Jeff Head I had wonderful looks at a
Yellow-billed Loon still decked-out in full alternate plumage. Impressive!
The location was about 3 miles east of the spot near Suquamish where a
Yellow-billed Loon was observed for a few days last April. So perhaps this
lovely loon will be visible from shore in the upcoming weeks. I will keep on
the look-out.

No sign of any phalaropes or jaegers. The Port Madison Bay (body of water
east of Suquamish) does have a good concentration of birds. 3,000 Western
Grebes, 500 Common Murres, 100 Pacific loons, 400 Bonaparte's Gulls, 20
Heermann's Gulls were in the area along with an assortment of other
water-birds. Harbor Porpoises were all over and I did see one Dall's
Porpoise.

A very nice evening to be out in the boat even if I did have to weave
through gill-netters on my way back to Eagle Harbor.

Cheers and good birding,
