An accipiter, which I believe to be a Cooper's Hawk, landed with its prey on
a log on Jamestown Beach (near Dungeness Bay) today, Wednesday, October 18th
at 2:30 PM. What was surprising was the large, blue, round tag that could
clearly be seen on its right wing. All that was on the tag was a roman
numeral 1. Although I sent a report to the Bird Banding Lab in Patuxent,
does anyone on Tweeters care to know about this?
