Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday October 19. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On October 11 a possible BROAD-WINGED HAWK was seen over Mt. Scott in
southeast Portland. Another was reported October 14 in the Coast Range near
Manning. A GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was seen October 15 at Lakeside in Coos
County. On October 13 a CAPE MAY WARBLER was seen near the Clackamas Town
Center in southeast Portland. On October 14 a BLUE JAY was at Malheur NWR
Headquarters. A MANX SHEARWATER was off Boiler Bay October 16.

Among the many migrants during the week were NORTHERN SHRIKES, MEW GULLS,
CACKLING GEESE, and LINCOLN?S SPARROWS. The number of EURASIAN
COLLARED-DOVES continue to increase. During the week a flock of ten was at
Madras and a flock of 13 was in White City.

On October 13 a PALM WARBLER and 394 GREAT EGRETS were at Smith/Bybee Lakes
in North Portland. That day a BLACK SWIFT was over Oregon City. Two LAPLAND
LONGSPURS were at the Molalla Sewage Ponds October 12. On October 15 a
POMARINE JAEGER and four SURF SCOTERS were at the Philomath Sewage Ponds.
That day two PACIFIC LOONS were at Fern Ridge Reservoir. On October 16 a
SAGE THRASHER was at Lake Selmac south of Grants Pass.

On October 14 two BAND-TAILED PIGEONS were at the Green Ridge HawkWatch
Station near Camp Sherman. On October 13 a MARBLED GODWIT was at Houston
Lake near Powell Butte. Two BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS were at Ochoco Lake near
Prineville October 16. A SURF SCOTER was at Hatfield Lake near Bend October
14. Another was seen that day on Lake Simtustus near Madras.
