Maybe neither. Intergrade or hybrid flickers have been showing up for years and are not much
of a novelty anymore. So they are not rare, and thus , I suspect, not so interesting.
to answer your question, I think it might be necessary to examine specimens in museums and
find out how common the Intergrade or hybrids are, and whether or not there is a geographical
or seasonal population difference. Sounds like a phd thesis!Clarice Clark
