Standing at bank of Little Bear Creek in Woodinville when a robin came
flying up the creek drainage closely pursued by a coopers hawk. For reasons
I can not fathom, the robin stayed in the course of the creek, about 3-4
feet over the water, both birds zipping past me at eye level at close range,
the hawk swerving inland a bit, probably more to cut the distance than to
avoid me. I would think this would be a bad strategy for the robin but they
went upstream out of view and I did not see the outcome.
