Hi Tweeters:
Last year Matt Bartels wrote about his Thayer's Gull site. (See his msg
below.)
And just like last year, a msg to Tweets about a Thayer's in Orting prompted
me to check out the Duwamish River gull site today, Oct 22 at 3pm. There
were no gulls in the river in front of the big Boeing Employees Credit
Union. But on the roof of bldg. of the Yellow Truck Company just to the
south of the credit union, there were about 120 gulls loafing on the roof in
the sun. Of that number about 35 of the gulls were definite Thayer's Gulls.
All of the gulls had pink legs, to muddy up the ID problem. ;-)
Earlier in the day today, we had a juv Peale's Peregrine on a snag near the
north tower at Kent Ponds.
Yours, Carol Schulz
