Hi Megan

I use a Sigma 50-500 and it is a handy lens if you can learn to use it handheld. It will not autofocus with a teleconverter which is frustrating. It is a medium quality lens so although it takes good quality images it does lack some of the pizzaz of better quality glass. For the most part this can be made up for by good editing software.

I like the Canons, the 400 gets closer but doesn't have IS and is slower. The 300 has IS, is faster and auto-focuses with a teleconverter. Decisions, decisions!
