The other day, when I was driving home, a huge owl
flew out of the forest, skimmed the windshield of the
car in front of me, and continued on into the forest
on the other side of the road. So, I can certainly see
how some fatalities can happen. I was surprised it
wasn't killed.

(I never understood why birds don't fly OVER the
traffic...we had a mourning dove "explode" by hitting
the antenna of our car one day.)
