Hello All:
Fred Boesche and I had another excellent day on the coast. This time we
birded Hoquiam and Ocean Shores. The best birds, by far, were the two
'Hepburn's' Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches which landed on the sandbar behind the
Ocean Shores STP in the game range. Also in the area were a Northern Shrike
and 8 Lapland Longspurs. At Damon Point we had remarkably good views of 12
Streaked Horned Larks including a color-banded one. Between these two sites,
I counted 350 Herring Gulls among the even larger numbers of California and
Olympic gulls. Also a large number of Thayer's in one flock, but nowhere
else.

Cheers and good birding
