Tweets,
I spent a couple of the morning hours Monday at Nisqually Wildlife
Refuge with gratifying results. Two target birds were found about 100
yards from the end of the trail out to McAllister Crk: an A. BITTERN
flushed from the last flooded cattails on the north side, and a N.
SHRIKE posed atop a tree on the south side. A WHITE-TAILED KITE was
observed in a small tree north or northeast of the twin barns
observation platform. The most unexpected bird was a brightly colored
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER calling and posing nicely at the NW corner of
the admin bldg. 49 species at Nisqually, 80 at various Thurston County
locations including Luhr Beach, Capital Lake, and Mull Rd near Tenino.
Good birding!
