After viewing photos by Nathan Hamm, I'm forced to conclude that the
Calidris I saw at the Fill yesterday was indeed a Dunlin. Nathan's shots
show a much browner bird than I remember - and I saw it in direct
sunlight - but what tipped the scales for me was the bill, which seems
entirely too straight. Awfully strong supercilium, though...
