Hi Tweeters,

Quite a week here in the backyard and at the feeders. First on Monday,
a Mtn. chickadee showed up for about 30 minutes on Monday. What a
surprise! I used to see them during the late fall and winter in
Brookings on the coast of Oregon, but this is the first for me this far
east in Washington. Then today, while watching three juvenile flickers
fuss over the suet feeder, a slightly smaller and darker bird flew in.
Head shape and bill shape was woodpecker, but couldn't be sure until I
looked in Sibleys at the juvenile Lewis woodpecker. Great match. Brown
head and all.

First Lewis east of the Cascade Crest for me.

If either show up again I will post a note in case someone wants to try
to see either.
