OK had to put in my two cents. I have looked at the Sullivan photos and those from Wilson Cady (very telling) and this bird shows many more little blue than snowy. Snowy's are a elegant slender looking bird. This bird is not, it does show that bulky look of the little blue. The photos from Cady also gives one a clear view of the bill and it is definitely not a snowy bill, it's bulk suggest the little blue. I also, as someone else posted, just returned from the east coast and had been photographing herons and egrets on Merritt Island NWR, Florida. Unfortunately I have NO imm little blue herons. Having lived in Florida for years I feel I do have some experience with the looks of both species.
