[Tweeters] one bird bookI suspect this is the same bird seen by John and Donna Keith on July 10th and 11th. That bird was being seen from Alder St and 20th in Lacey as well. I have some pictures John sent me at that time, and it certainly could be the same bird.

This morning, our local newspaper, The Olympian, is reporting (and showing a photo of) an albino Northern Flicker in Lacey, discovered by Jim Moore and Sylvia Mouer, but it only says they've seen it near their home on Alder St. I drove over there a few minutes ago and didn't see the bird but managed to find Jim Moore, at 1613 Alder St. He says the bird has been seen in the early morning, and that someone saw it being fed by its parents. A very pretty bird, though undoubtedly not destined to live long. He has put pictures of it (actually taken by Sylvia, I think) on his website, www.woodywings.org . The easiest way to find Alder St. is to take College St. south from I-5 to Lacey Blvd., which is one-way going east. Look for Alder on the right, about 3-4 blocks ("blocks" are not well defined in this area) to the east. After turning onto Alder, you'll make a slight jog to the left to continue south to 1613, a nicely landscaped yard full of birds.
