When I lved in or visited Florida, ages ago, juvenile Little Blue Herons used to cause me some discomfort. Maybe because some of them were realy Snowy Egrets? Little Blues were often seen on sea walls and piers. Snowies were more wary. Doesn't feeding behavior sort of point to one or the other? Anyway, I recall white Little Blues having a bluish-gray base to the bill.

Are there any potential East Asian herons that might find their way here?
