Hi Tweets,

Yesterday, George Gerdts and I had a few interesting birds off of the east
shores of Bainbridge Island. In the early morning hours we enjoyed a little
jaeger show near Blakely Rock. An adult Pomarine Jaeger harassed a Caspian
Tern and later after a twenty minute rest on the water it harassed a
California Gull and then flew -off to the north. In the same area we also
saw two adult Parasitic Jaegers, one of which spent some time harassing a
Common Tern. It was great to be able to compare the these two species.

Later in the morning we had a juvenile Brown Pelican fly over Blakely Rock
heading further south in the direction of Vashon Island. In the early
afternoon we had a north-bound juvenile Brown Pelican off of the south-end
of Bainbridge Island. It could have been the same individual as earlier in
the day, but ???

Now if we could only have those puffins make a reappearance on the Kitsap
County side of Puget Sound.

Cheers and good birding,
