After my wife Pipper and I located an immature Franklin's Gull at Blyn
yesterday morning (as per Bob Norton's e-mail last night) we continued to bird
the area. The 3-Crabs area was slow regarding shorebirds, counting up to 75
BB Plovers, and many Western Sandpipers with a few Leasts. Helen's Pond was
full of water with no mud showing. Driving down Jamestown Beach RD we located
many warblers moving thru the low trees, 15 Yellow-rumps, 6 B-t Greys, two
Townsends, one MacGillivrays and 3 Warbling Vireos. Later we had 10 Black
Swifts, moving low under the cloud cover, and several more Yellow-rumps, all along
Smuck Rd.
A good day even though it was cool, showery, with some wind,
Good birding,
Doug and Pip
