I thought I had better do a follow - up. I had found better photos of the bird in question (the problem with digital one takes to many photos!) and asked Steve Mlodinow for assistance in ID. The bird looked like a Macgillivray's to me but it had a complete eye-ring. I asked Steve for his help and he sent copies off to folks back east. They also agreed it is a Mac but also found it unusual to find one with a complete eyering.

Now I can put this to rest. If anyone would like to see the pic's I have email me and I would gladly send them to you.

Keep the birding intense, like the bird at Ridgefield.
