Greetings Tweeters,

I have a belated report for last weekend as I have been on the road. Last
Friday, my wife and I headed to Ft Canby State Park Campground following a
most successful Westport Pelagic trip. Saturday morning I walked the beach
from the north end of the campground toward the North Jetty. I located only
two shorebirds on my walk, both along the strand line on the upper part of
the beach at the base of the dunes. One bird was a juvenile Western
Sandpiper, the other was a Buff-breasted Sandpiper. The bird was seen very
well at close range. It was perhaps a mile south from the rocky headlands
that defines the north end of the beach.
Good Luck and good birding,
Bill Shelmerdine
