I dashed up to Edmonds about 6 PM in hopes of spotting the Sabine's Gulls reported off Sunset Drive just north of the ferry this afternoon. A fine concentration of Bonaparte's -- about 1000 or so -- a few Heermann's, lots of California Gulls, but I couldn't pick out anything more unusual, though many were at the limits of my vision. Edmonds seems to have the feed, as such concentrations a few miles south in King County are most unusual.

Speaking of which, yesterday I hiked out to West Point through Discovery Park about 10:30 AM as the tide was falling and enjoyed a very brief touchdown by a single SEMIPALMATED PLOVER, plus a small flock of SANDERLINGS, three LEAST SANDPIPERS, and probably about 500 RED-NECKED PHALAROPES, the last way out in mid-channel heading south.

I then ferried over to Vashon Island in hopes of finding the Franklin's Gull that had been seen there Saturday last at Fern Cove. Found about 50 Bonaparte's there and a bunch of Mew Gulls, but no Franklin's and nothing much else except for two AMERICAN PIPITS at Fisher's Pond, a new Vashon bird for my list.
