Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday September 14. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls
at 503-233-3976.

On September 8 a female BLUE GROSBEAK was reported at Pistol River. A CURLEW
SANDPIPER was seen September 13 on the North Spit of Coos Bay. On September
9 a RED PHALAROPE was at the South Jetty of the Siuslaw River. On September
7 an AMERICAN REDSTART was on Cascade Head north of Lincoln City.

A RUFF is now being seen at Ridgefield NWR. On September 12, 192 GREAT
EGRETS were at Smith/Bybee Lakes in North Portland. A possible CLAY-COLORED
SPARROW was seen there that day. At least ten BLACK SWIFTS were seen
September 12 at Mollala River State Park near Canby. On September 10 a RED
KNOT and a breeding plumaged BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER were at Fern Ridge
Reservoir.

On September 9 a FORSTER?S TERN, 19 COMMON TERNS, and a BONAPARTE?S GULL
were on the Columbia River at McNary Dam. Also on September 9 there were
four SANDERLINGS at Hatfield Lake east of Bend and a SOLITARY SANDPIPER at
Tumalo Reservoir west of Bend.
