This morning at Montlake fill 3 Sharp-shinned Hawks and one Cooper's Hawk jockeyed for positions in the willows and snags around the main pond - presumably stalking 2 sandpipers present. I didn't get a look at the sandpiper's or a look well enough to id them as I was distracted by warbler activity in the willows and shrubs near the foot path. One of the warblers was a Yellow-rumped Warbler. The other was slightly more problematic. At first I thought it was an Orange-crowned Warbler but I didn't recognize it's chip note. Once I was able to locate the warbler, I observed a white tick on its wing - reminiscent to a Black-throated Blue Warbler. After a quick look at the wing, I managed to get a glimpse of its face. Here I observed a distinct white eye line. The body was drab olive. This warbler then disappeared into the willows and I was unable to relocate it.

So. Is it a BTBW? Unfortunately, I didn't get good enough looks to confidently id the bird. Perhaps someone else may have better luck.
