Hi,
I enjoyed the story of the Pearson book immensely. One thing I found while working at a bird feed store, is that people LOVED getting the BIRDS OF PUGET SOUND for kids.
I had so many young people, age 5 and up wanting this book, and I would have to convince the parents that this is a great book for kids; as well as beginning birders, and those new to the area. (i often used it when taking inexperienced teen birders out for a classroom project). Boys especially would want this book, and then the Birding By Ear CD's.
In the long run, those whose kids got that book, loved it; and would talk to me about birds when they came into the store. They also learned the bird calls very quickly from what I understood.
I have a niece in Colorado that loves birds, I just wish Bob Morse and his guys would write one for that area!
