Subject: [Tweeters] A swirl of juncos
Date: Sep 21 16:59:54 2006
From: Rob Sandelin - floriferous at msn.com

I came to the edge of the woods today and stopped to admire a large group of
Dark-eyed juncos who were flying about in a sort of a revolving circular
pattern. There was a constant chatter of clicks as they swirled around each
other, seemingly to leapfrog in the air, bouncing over each other, some of
them drifting out slowly at the edges like snowflakes. Then suddenly they
all disappeared into the brush, all together, all at once. Poof they were
gone! I waited a good long time expecting to see the hawk that spooked them
but it never came into view.
