It's probably not appropriate to sound any alarms based on two dead
squirrels but it's certainly more significant than one dead squirrel,
especially given the short time interval. West Nile Virus has been turning
up in eastern gray squirrels in Idaho and California. I'm concerned we'll
see it here in a variety of animals. At this point, though, I don't know of
any local health departments that are testing anything other than crows,
jays, ravens, magpies....
