Based on a tip from Dennis Duffy yesterday afternoon, I headed down
to Richmond Beach (City of Shoreline) this morning. Dennis had
reported huge numbers of gulls, two Parasitic Jaegers and one
Pomarine Jaeger. I arrived at the beach at 8:15 a.m. and saw several
large rafts of gulls not too far off shore. They were mostly
Bonaparte's (200+), some California Gulls, a few Heermann's, and a
few Glaucous-winged. There were four jaegers working the crowd. I
believe all four were Parasitics as they were chasing the gulls in
pairs. After about half an hour the activity quieted down and the
gulls moved north and more into the center of the Sound.
