Sorry for the late posting, but on a sunny day SAS field trip, led by Alan Huggins on Sunday 9/24, we had two Franklin's Gulls at the beach parking area near 240th at Tramp Harbor. They were mixed in with scores of Bonaparte's Gulls. Even better, there was the most beautiful, near-breeding plumaged Pacific Loon, the first in such plumage that I've seen in WA. The same loon was spotted a bit closer from KVI beach. (Where, by the way, we also had an Ed Swan sighting!) It was an absolutely beautiful day on Vashon and that night I had a good dream about the loon!
