I saw one in my yard a couple years ago. I wasn't the first to see it,
either. I saw my dog staring intently at it in the grass.

When I lived in Pullman - mid 80's - my kids used to come home quite
frequently with mantises and mantis egg cases. Of course, I was never the
first to see one. Leave it to children to have an uncluttered search image!
