I have flown repeatedly this year with binocs, & sometimes a spotting
scope, in my carry-on. never once been challenged by security over the
optics. and because I live both in Seattle & Falls Church, VA, many of
those flights were either in to or out of either Dulles or National
airports. the only place I got questioned at all -- and not about the
optics -- was Duluth, MN. w/r jck
